It is designed to accommodate both gallery-profile and standard-profile canvases without the canvas extending beyond the back of the frame.DeSerres also offers gallery photo frames with glass, which are deeper and create a more pronounced, dimensional look when hung on the wall. What Is a Float Frame? As the name suggests, a float frame is designed to make the artwork appear to “float” within the frame rather than being pressed behind a sheet of glass. This creates the illusion of depth and gives the artwork a striking three-dimensional appearance.Float frames are especially well suited for stretched canvases. Unlike traditional frames, they are front-loading: the canvas is inserted from the front and secured from the back. This design allows the entire edge of the artwork to remain visible, with no portion obscured by the frame. If you’re looking for a gallery-style presentation for your canvas, a float frame is an excellent choice.
